According to a recent news release, “American Idol” champ Reuben Studdard recently rolled through The Tom Joyner Morning Show’s Red Velvet Cake Studio for a soul-stirring performance of his new inspirational radio single “Medicine (For Someone Else)” from the charity CD “Medicine: Live at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters” (MCG Records).  Studdard spent the hour talking to the legendary syndicated radio host about his current musical project and community involvement before doing an in-studio jam performance.“Medicine: Live At The Black Academy of Arts and Letters” also features Ann Nesby, Jasmine Guy and others backed by the 80-voice Black Academy Choir. The project raises money to fund youth arts programs at the 35-year-old Black Academy of Arts & Letters in Dallas which is suffering from a cut back in government grants due to the sluggish economy.
